nice game and i got 1050 coins and threw away so many steaks mushrooms and lettuce before i realized i could place them on tables so i probably went bankrupt :I .sorry you couldn't submit though you still made a really cool game!
Thanks so much! Haha yeah I wondered if I should explain that you could put things on tables, but I really had to rush the tutorial lol. Thanks for playing and for the kind words!
I earned 830 coins! It's more interesting than I initially thought to optimize my output. The mechanics function smoothly. Having more to it, like your plan for foraging for ingredients, would make things more interesting. Unfortunate you missed the deadline. I also kind of didn't read the rules closely enough, and we had 5 people on our team instead of the maximum of 4, whoops!
Thanks! Yeah, since I couldn't spend as much time as I wanted to, the game is really simple, but I agree that there is still at least a little bit of strategy to maximize sales.
And yikes, sorry to hear that! I'm sure you guys still made an awesome game, regardless! I'll be sure to check it out!
It was a fun game. I don't know how much you are looking for feedback but here are a few things you could maybe improve on:
Mixing ingredients. I want to make three-order, but I accidentally sell some of the stuff to single, or double order and that's kind of sad.
Don't start the timer until the player starts moving. I just want to take a quick break to see how much money I got, and just generally I want to be prepared for todays work.
Less orders. Having so many order options, doesn't require you to think about what to make, but instead just do what you can and sell it.
Increase the timer. When you get to a specific point in the game, you will know that you can't make any more food, and just wait for the timer to run out. Increasing the timer would make this tiny waiting have a lot less impact.
Useage of money? I don't really need to suggest this, cuz you probably already have lots of ideas on what you could have done with it, if you had a bit more time... but using the money on something could be fun maybe...
More food and more options? Same as above I don't need to suggest this. Just continuing the style you have right now, you could turn the game into a more exciting cooking game (like overcooked or smth)...
This is awesome, thank you so much for the thoughtful feedback!
I completely agree on these points. As I was testing it, I felt like it needed another element to increase strategy and not just cook whatever you want and hope it sells. Unfortunately, with the amount of time I had, I wasn't able to implement anything, so it's still really basic now. And yeah, I totally had plans for more ingredients/dishes, and a way to use money, but again, time just slipped away as it tends to do. =P

Overcooked but it's pixel? Great game, it could be at the top of the jam :) Cheers!
Yeah I definitely pulled a lot straight from Overcooked, haha! Thanks so much! =D
